Little Painted Desert County Park Arizona

Colorful layers of eroded earth stretch across the Little Painted Desert in Arizona. Subtle bands of red, brown, and gray create a rugged Southwestern landscape beneath the open sky.

It was freezing cold and windy when I took this shot, and waiting for the light as the sun rose was agony. It was nice to get back indoors and appreciate some hot chocolate!
